Richard works with top teams and HR leaders on issues
associated with organisational culture and change. He has an engaging,
strategic style and is very skilled in presenting and using survey,
questionnaire and behavioural data to bring about cultural change.
Richard’s skilful use of diagnostics to assess
a company’s culture and climate before taking action fits perfectly
with APG’s ethos. He has helped our clients to clarify their business
vision and values. He has also designed and implemented change strategies
that have significantly improved business performance.
Coaching and mentoring to leaders at all levels, leadership
development programmes for senior managers, and the development of organisational
networks to support sustainable change are just part of the expertise
Richard brings to APG.
Previously, Richard worked for Shell International
for 20 years as a HR leader and then as organisation development manager.
During this time he coordinated and facilitated strategic change in
Europe, Asia and North America. His experience included line management
of large numbers of staff and budgetary responsibility for multi-million
pound budgets.

Richard is a guest lecturer in psychology at King's
College, University of London and speaks regularly at professional conferences
and events.
Writings include a chapter in 'Why won't they do what
we tell them' – a book on change management, and a contribution
to ‘Business Psychology in Practice’ promoted by the Association
of Business Psychologists.
Richard is a Chartered Psychologist, a Principal Member
of the Association of Business Psychologists, and a Fellow of the Ergonomics
Society. He has served on the board of the Association of Business Psychologists
and is currently a member of the International Relations Committee in
the British Psychological Society.
He has an MSc and PhD in psychology and human factors.
