The term expert is often falsely applied but not in
Hugh’s case. His thorough, practical understanding of every aspect
of marketing has been honed with some of the best known multinational
organisations.
The many facets of Hugh’s career include market
research – conducting multi-country surveys for large corporations
and new product development.
Hugh has held senior positions with many household
name corporations such as Rank Xerox, Kelloggs, Fiat, Barclays and Remy
Martin. His roles have included brand manager, international marketing
director, and regional director covering EMEA.
As international marketing manager of ICI Fibres,
he developed and implemented strategy across 12 subsidiaries in Europe
and North America. This increased share against the world leader in
the sector and also improved profitability.
Hugh recently completed six years as non-executive
director of Traidcraft plc, the UK's pioneering Fair Trade organisation.
He is on the training faculty of the Chartered Institute of Marketing,
and was one of the UK’s first chartered marketers. He is also
a full member of the Market Research Society.
