How to manage workplace stress after your holiday
- Try to return from holiday two days before you return to work
- During those two days, empty your luggage and put your suitcases in the loft. Go to the supermarket and do some
activities at home.
- Try to return to your work schedule and obligations gradually. Start with the easiest tasks - some little things.
For example read your email and arrange your office, etc.
- Put up a photo in your office that you took on holiday and, while looking at it, savour the memory.
- Manage your time and activities so you don’t feel drowned.
- Relax! Often, stress and melancholy change the metabolic rate after your holiday.
- Exercise, even if it’s just brisk lunchtime walks. Exercise is perhaps the best way to combat stress.
- Ask colleagues and friends for their help.
- Don’t schedule meetings for your first morning at work.
- Don’t wait for the next holiday - make every day meaningful.
- Use the return to work as a type of New Year’s resolution. Take up that hobby you have been promising
yourself. Keep it simple and easy to take the first step.
